Old Forge Distillery

Distilling over 200 years of Tennessee tradition — stone-ground grains, fresh mountain water.

📍 Pigeon Forge, TN

Old Forge Distillery draws its name — and its craft — from the iron forge and grist mill that built a community in Pigeon Forge. The Old Mill, constructed in 1830, is one of the oldest continuously operating mills in the country and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1975. Today, its giant water wheel still harnesses the flow of the Little Pigeon River to power the gristmill — and those freshly ground grains go directly into Old Forge spirits.

Head distiller Keener Shanton combines the old-fashioned methods of 18th-century settlers with modern craft know-how, producing a robust lineup that spans moonshine, bourbon whiskey, rum, gin, vodka, and cream liqueurs. The moonshine flavors — including Oatmeal Cookie, Chocolate, Coffee, Bananas Foster, French Toast, and Peach — draw direct inspiration from the nearby Old Mill Kitchens. The cream liqueur flavors, like Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Coconut, and Peanut Butter Cream, are derived from the Old Mill Creamery next door.

This is a distillery with genuine roots. The water source, the land, the mill, the grains — it all connects back to the same place the original settlers chose over two centuries ago. Old Forge is a proud member of the TN Whiskey Trail™ and a natural highlight on any crawl route through Pigeon Forge.

Note: Old Forge Distillery does not currently participate in the Crawl Band™ discount program.
